Core aerators are a kind of effective lawn aerator, which is widely used by the people. The people basically use to make their lawn look lush and green, by just spending few on the aerator rather than paying large sums to the landscaper. The aeration with this device requires to be carried out yearly and counts around one week for its completion; moreover the outcomes can be staggering and according to the efforts put in. the technique behind its working is that it makes use of the hollow tines that eradicate ground soil cores.  This allows the roots to stretch widely, as the chunks of soil get removed. The aerators are both operated manually or by using power.

How To Aerate Lawn

The first kind is the manual core aerators. They are basically suitable for the small areas. As the aerator is forced into the ground, the soil cores are made too punch out. Their working procedure is simple and just involves stepping and pulling. The removed soil cores should be left, as they will aid the thatch and grass clippings to decompose on the ground. They even help in smoothening out the minor unevenness on the yard by filling in low spots. The procedure requires to be carried out many times, thus limited to small areas only.

Another powerful kind is power aerators which appear to be very large, seeming like heavy-duty lawn-mowers. Their construction includes revolving cylinder being circumscribed by tiny spoons made to remove the large amounts of soil.  These aerators are basically gas-powered and is given on rental basis by big home pair chains or tool rental stores at a rent of around 100$ per day.  They are heavy with a weight of around 200 pounds. Because of the weight one requires a larger pickup trailer or truck for its transportation purposes. One can even hire some transportation means by paying a little extra amount. They can cover larger areas and more practical. These aerators are brought in use by professionals involved in lawn care. Very few homeowners prefer to buy this one as its price is very large around 2,500$, and its use is felt just twice a year only. The popular brands in this area are Ryan, Bluebird, Turfco and Classen. These all are commercial lawn aerators. The added advantage of owning garden tillers by some of the homeowners is that the garden tillers carry an attachment which converts them to core aerators.
